Welcome to the blog of Lighthouse Christian Homeschool!

This blog serves three purposes:

1. To have a place to 'jot down' the day to day happenings in our homeschool for our support teacher to see, in hopes that some of the things we do will fit nicely into the provincial learning outcomes.

2. To keep my family up to date on what we're 'up to'.

3. To glorify God.

So on that note, come on in!

Camping at Otter Lake

This summer we had our first extended family camping trip. My parents and both my sisters and their families joined us at Otter Lake. We had an absolutely excellent time! The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed lots of fun and fellowship. Here are some pictures of our trip:

Yummy Pancakes!
Gotta have lots of whipped cream!

Daddy's Helper
Bike Ride on the Old Kettle Valley Railway

Some parts were more rough than others. We even had to get off and walk a few times.
We found a scenic rest stop, along the way.

We also found a rope swing which my brother-in-law had to try out.

Here he is, all soaking wet!
Back on the trail

We found some old railway discards. It was interesting to see the older wooden spikes and the newer metal ones.
The water was a bit cold, but the kids didn't mind.

Ending off the last night with a game of  UNO with Uncle Kevin.

We had such a great time camping at Otter Lake with the family! We'll definitely have to do it again!
