Welcome to the blog of Lighthouse Christian Homeschool!

This blog serves three purposes:

1. To have a place to 'jot down' the day to day happenings in our homeschool for our support teacher to see, in hopes that some of the things we do will fit nicely into the provincial learning outcomes.

2. To keep my family up to date on what we're 'up to'.

3. To glorify God.

So on that note, come on in!

Soccer Camp Serving

Soccer Camp has always been a summer highlight for our family. For a number of years all 4 kids were High Power Soccer Campers each summer. Now that Christine and Joshua are too old to be campers, they have stepped into a helping role.
The last two years Christine helped with the Junior Campers (3 and 4 year olds) and this year she worked in the nursery so that the parents of babies could coach and help in other ways. Since Christine loves little ones, this was a perfect fit! She also got some valuable experience working with a little boy with special needs, which she just loved! I am really proud of her joyful willingness to spend a week of her time (4 hours each day) serving others.
This year was Joshua's first year to be a helper. He jumped right in with the Field Set-up Team and learned a lot about taking instructions and following through with a job. While camp was going on, Joshua stepped right up and helped to snag stray balls on the field. I am so proud of the great job he did!
Rebecca and Caleb enjoyed being Soccer Campers once again. This was Rebecca's last year as a camper, so we'll have to see which area of service will be a fit for her next year. Both Caleb and Rebecca had a great time running around on the field with both old and new friends. They also enjoyed 'The Zone' and all the little reminders about God's plan of Salvation.
Since I was coaching, I couldn't take pictures, so I was glad when Tim was able to stop by one day and take some pictures. Here's a few:
