Welcome to the blog of Lighthouse Christian Homeschool!

This blog serves three purposes:

1. To have a place to 'jot down' the day to day happenings in our homeschool for our support teacher to see, in hopes that some of the things we do will fit nicely into the provincial learning outcomes.

2. To keep my family up to date on what we're 'up to'.

3. To glorify God.

So on that note, come on in!

The Aquarium

The kids love to visit the aquarium, and so in the middle of June we headed to the Vancouver Aquarium. There is so much to learn there, so we brought along observation sheets to jot down some of what we were learning.
Christine's favourite is the dolphins
When you stand inside the bubble you can see all sorts of creatures all around you:

We went to a workshop where we learned to make puzzle treats for the parrots. They can't just have their food given to them. They need their brains stimulated, so we stuck seeds and other foods in little corners and made it an eating challenge for them.
When we were finished, we watched the woman put it up for the parrots to enjoy.
Joshua LOVES the sharks!
This ray went right on the glass, so we got a perfect view!
Hey! Check it out!
Spotted Garden Eels - Wow, God sure is creative!
Joshua was so enthralled with the Basilisk Lizard that he wanted to watch it forever, just to see if he could watch it walking on the water.
Joshua turned his head away from staring at the Basilisk for long enough to get a quick picture.

and last, but certainly not least, the dolphin show!

Thankyou God for creating all of these diverse, colourful, amazing animals for us to enjoy! We had such a great time and learned a lot!
