Welcome to the blog of Lighthouse Christian Homeschool!

This blog serves three purposes:

1. To have a place to 'jot down' the day to day happenings in our homeschool for our support teacher to see, in hopes that some of the things we do will fit nicely into the provincial learning outcomes.

2. To keep my family up to date on what we're 'up to'.

3. To glorify God.

So on that note, come on in!

Field Trip to the Symphony

On November 16, 2011 Christine, Joshua, Rebecca and I went on an Adventure to the Orpheum in Vancouver to see Simard's Animal Kingdom with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. We climbed on the bus at the end of our street and rode to White Rock Centre where we switched buses and headed toward the Skytrain station. Then we rode the Skytrain all the way in to downtown, where it was a short walk to the Orpheum. It was a fun adventure! When we got there, there were thousands of school kids swarming about the place. I was very thankful that I just had my 3 to take care of. We ended up in the 4th row and discovered that the first three rows were not being used, giving us an unobscured view of the stage. What a treat! The program was tailored to kids grade 4-7 and it was fantastic! Here are some photos of our journey and of us while we were there.
